Seismic Releasing and Mena Films are partnering to release The Ruse, which had its world premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival. It will have a wide theatrical release on May 16, 2025. Written and directed by Steven Mena, director of the cult-classic horror Malevolence and its sequel Bereavement, The Ruse co-stars Michael Bakkensen, T.C. Carter, Kayleigh Ruller, and Nicola Silber.
“The Ruse is a throwback to the classic mystery where everyone is a suspect,” stated William Gruenberg of Seismic Releasing in a press release. "It is a smart, twisted, engaging thriller that also delivers heart-pounding scares that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. Watching in a crowded theater is the best way to experience the excitement and chills of this tension-packed thriller.” Mena Films founder, Stevan Mena, added:
“We are beyond excited to team up with Seismic to bring this film to theaters nationwide. I can’t think of a more terrifying scenario than being a caregiver in a house that might be haunted, and you can’t leave because of your responsibility to the patient.”
The Ruse is produced by Mena, John Caglione Jr., Timothy Bristoll, and Scott Krycia. You can find more information at The Ruse Movie.
